Water Conservation TipsHow can I reduce my water use?
First, make sure that you don't have any leaks. Second, install low-flow shower heads and faucets. Water conservation kits are available free of charge to City utility customers. These kits contain dye tablets to help identify leaking toilets, a low-flow shower head, a "toilet tank bag" to reduce toilet water usage, and aerators for bathroom and kitchen faucets. And finally, practice good water conservation measures. For tips on how to do this, check out the American Water Works Association's web site, which has a drip calculator that shows how much water a leak will waste in a day, month, and year. There is also an interactive "home tour" at www.H2Ouse.org that provides water conservation information for each area of your home.
